The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Missouri Municipal League are co-hosting a workshop for Missouri municipalities. In this workshop, regulated municipalities will receive guidance on how to prepare a revised ornew 5-year stormwater management program plan (SWMP).
The SWMP is a requirement ofregulated Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) as indicated in the general permit which is scheduled to expire June 13, 2013. New/renewal applications for this permit are due May 14, 2013, and municipalities are working toupdate their SWMP(as required for the renewal/new application.) Some municipalities are new to the program and will be developing a SWMP for the first time.
Several communities have received administrative reviews of their program or inspections from EPA or DNR regional staff. This feedback typically includes a requirement to improve the SWMP in order to address requirements. Attendees will be able to learn more about EPA and DNR's thoughts on SWMP adequacy, as well as gather resources such as model ordinances and program templates from fellow permittees.
The new and renewal application deadlines for regulated Small MS4s is now May 14, 2013. (The deadline has changed from December 12, 2012 to May 14, 2013 due to a recent change in statute.)
