About the Seminar:
A long-term financial plan is a collaborative exercise between finance staff and the rest of organization to examine the financial health of the organization and to develop strategies to promote ongoing financial sustainability. In this seminar, Shayne C. Kavanagh, the author of Financing the Future: Long-term Financial Planning for Local Government, will introduce participants to the process of long-term financial planning; describe how to engage a member of the organization in planning; review the technical tools for planning; and explain how to develop strategies that promote the long-term financial health of the organization. The training will feature hands on exercises, tools and templates to help participants apply the concepts they have learned.
Attendees will learn:
- The fundamental features of a long-term financial plan.
- The steps to take in order to develop a financial plan.
- The technical tools for financial planning.
- How to develop strategies for long-term financial health.
Each person registered for the seminar will receive a copy of the book, Financing the Future: Long-Term Financial Planning for Local Government as a part of the registration for the seminar.
