CREATING AN AUTHENTIC SERVANT LEADERSHIP CULTURE, presented by Ron Holifield, Chief Executive Officer, Strategic Government Resources

Description: We live in a VUCA world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. To thrive as a leader in a VUCA world, we must lead in the constructive tension between healthy relationships and dynamic change. Servant Leadership provides the right philosophical framework for leading in this environment. This webinar will provide a practical roadmap for how to create a real and sustainable culture built on the foundation of servant leadership principles.

Will qualify for 1 hour of elective credit for the Municipal Governance Institute (*MGI).

REGISTER HERE- February 20
MUNICIPAL RISK AND CLAIMS REALITIES, presented by Patrick Bonnot, MIRMA

Description: This webinar analyzes the saga of governing the world of risk management and claims administration from a Missouri municipality’s standpoint. As our communities change over time, our residents expect local government to buck the stereotype of a slow-moving, monolithic object. Where some activities, due to high frequency/severity, dictate that municipalities contract out the specific tasks, other activities, due to low frequency/severity, allow for a more modest, managed approach. We will sift through various high-level and in-the-trenches aspects to assist in understanding which approach could be better for your municipality depending upon the service rendered.

Will qualify for 1 hour of liability and risk credit in the Municipal Governance Institute (*MGI).

REGISTER HERE - March 6
SUNSHINE LAW: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MISSOURI'S OPEN MEETINGS AND RECORDS LAWS, presented by Patricia Churchill, Director of Regulatory Affairs, AT Government Strategies LLC

We will also cover recent developments in statutes and case law.

Will qualify for 1 hour of sunshine law credit in the Municipal Governance Institute (*MGI).

REGISTER HERE March 22
BUILDING INCLUSION BY ENDING WORKPLACE BULLYING, presented by Catherine Mattice, International speaker, author, consultant and trainer

Description: We are seeing a lot of distrust and anger on the news. Communities are fighting over statues, raging over police behavior, and posting "me too" on their social media. Indeed, we are in an emotional time right now. With all this focus on sexual harassment and racism, we've missed one very crucial behavior that has to stop too: workplace bullying.

Workplace bullying is aggressive communication, humiliation and manipulation that results in depression, anxiety, and stress for targets and witnesses. It harms productivity and customer service, and damages the organization's culture.

Attendees will learn how to stop workplace bullying and create a more respectful, inclusive work environment. Attendees will learn:

  • How to define workplace bullying and how close it is to harassment and workplace violence
  • How to implement a health workplace policy that gets buy-in from employees
  • How to publicize your efforts to create a positive work environment to encourage local businesses to follow suit
  • How to provide training on the topic of bullying, as well as building a better environment
