Missouri Municipal League Elects New Leadership
Maryland Heights Council Member Chuck Caverly and Wildwood
Council Member Joe Garritano Elected to President, Vice President
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Municipal League elected city of Maryland Heights Council Member Chuck Caverly as president and Wildwood Council Member Joe Garritano as vice president during the organization’s virtual annual conference this week. In addition, the League elected five new members to serve on the MML Board of Directors.
Chuck Caverly is serving his fifth term as Councilman, having first been elected to office in April 2010. This is the culmination of more than two decades of service to the City beginning in early 1995.
Caverly was appointed as a member of the city of Maryland Heights Beautification Commission in January 1995. He moved on to the Planning and Zoning Commission in 1998 where he served until his election to Council in 2010.
Mr. Caverly was elected to the Board of the Municipal League of Metro St. Louis and served as President in 2017-2018. He has also served on the Missouri Municipal League’s Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development Committee.
Joe Garritano is a city council member in Wildwood, Missouri, since 2015. In August 2018, he was selected by the city council to serve as the City's mayor pro tem. During his tenure he has served in various leadership roles, such as chairman of the Crossings Improvement District and chairman of the Wildwood Administration & Public Works Council Committee.
In February 2019, Garritano was elected to serve on the board of directors for the Missouri Municipal League.
Professionally, Garritano is a senior project leader with a national financial firm, responsible for managing relationships across multiple departments to deliver a seamless client experience, as well as coordinating strategic activities and projects.
The five new MML Board of Directors members are:

• Chris McPhail, Alderman, Clever
• Heather Navarro, Alderwoman, St. Louis
• Lori Obermoeller, Finance Director, Creve Coeur
• Matt Turner, Alderman, Harrisonville
